Our next hotel for our visit is the Olympian. It can be found the district of West Kowloon, one of the 18 districts in Hong Kong. Kowloon city is well known for shopping, arts and entertainment and is close to Victoria harbour. The Olympian is a short walk away from the Waterfront Park and 10 minutes from the MTR (metro station).
Arrival and Welcome:
The Olympian is a luxury hotel which lives up to it’s name. With beautiful Chinese style fittings and decorations, it is wonderfully designed. It’s size and opulence is impressive with a grand entrance you would expect from a hotel of this nature. It captures the traditional Chinese style which is attractively translated into a modern design. The lighting creates a sense of spaciousness, calm, and elegance.
After the invitation into the building we were helped with our bags and checked in with the staff who were professional, polite and kind. We felt safe in their hands as the helped us with our baggage and explained the features of the hotel before showing us to our room.
Room:
The room was enormous. A very spacious and beautiful room with the Chinese modern style high quality fittings which can be found throughout the design of the hotel. Two grand double beds with miniature chaise-longues at the foot of each stand out in the room, with the wide floor to ceiling window behind which looks out onto the garden. The window opens out into a balcony so you can step out into the fresh air from the bedroom as you wish. The lighting is cleverly designed to look like traditional lanterns giving a calm and soft ambiance.
There is a very impressive open floor lounge area, with comfortable elegant sofa and modern flat screen grand TV, with additional surround lighting. A good place to put your feet up and relax!

A large bathroom with wide square mirrors which reflect the whole room, sturdy beautiful sinks, and one of the most spacious and beautiful baths I’ve ever seen in a hotel – great for relaxing in and fitted with a comfortable head rest whilst you are taking a soak.
